Exchange year

The best part about living here is definitely the school. As I am an exchange student in Santo Domingo (small town southwest of Quito) school is definitely important to me. Compared to schools in Europe, here the atmosphere is way more relaxed. Teachers are called by their first names. We are 48 in one class which is outrageously too many students, but it seems to work. The first day of school was a kinda new feeling to me, as I am blonde (and with that the only natural blonde in town) I immediately had like 30 kids standing around me smiling at me and asking questions. The people did treat me a bit different, because I am la gringa, but that settled with time.
