Let's start the year with another something new...

New! Monthly Photo Contest

I know that there are some great photos of Ecuador floating around out there. And as an incentive to you to upload your photo I've created a new Monthly Ecuador Photo Contest. It's easy to enter...just upload your photo to Life-in-Ecuador.com and it will be automatically entered into next months contest. Since we're just getting started all photos uploaded between now and February 29th, 2012 will be entered into the March 2012 contest. Then during the month of March vote for your favorite photo. The winning photo will be displayed on my homepage and also in the newsletter during the next month.

All winners will be entered into the Picture of the Year Contest with the chance to win a special prize.

Also on the Photo page are more of my family's and my personal photos that haven't been featured elsewhere on the website. Enjoy the scenes of this beautiful country.

New Year's Eve

One of the most interesting holidays in Ecuador is New Year's Eve. I went around town snapping photos of some of the sights. See what was happening and learn more about this unique day of tradition.

My Trip to Cuenca

Backing up to my trip with my dad and grandma...Cuenca was one of the highlights of the trip. We went on a great tour of the city by bus. And just wandering the streets and markets of the historic center of the city was worth the trip.

School in Ecuador

I've been learning to navigate another part of Ecuadorian life this last year. My son has been in school for almost five months now and it's definitely been an education...for me!

Featured Hotel

Last month, I started the Ecuador Travel Directory on my site and I received several great submissions. One of which was the CasaGrande Oceanfront Boutique Hotel in Bahia de Caraquez. Check it out.

Looking back it's been a big couple of weeks and I got quite a bit done. The next months promise to be just as busy.
