Issue #016, February 8, 2013

I've been working hard to catch up on some writing about my last road trip. Actually not just the most recent trip, but my 2011 trip as well. Bad, I know.
Mitad del Mundo

One of Ecuador's most popular tourist attractions. This complex marks one spot that the equator passes through Ecuador. Or does it?

There are also several museums and lots of shopping.

Mindo

When my parents were here in December, our road trip first took us to Mindo, Ecuador. The town is found deep in a valley of cloud forest. Mindo is popular with bird-watchers.

Canoa

As promised in the last newsletter...Canoa Part II. Canoa is a great little beach town to relax or surf. But the best part of Canoa is....the food!

1st Photo Contest of 2013

Check out the great photos that have already been submitted this year. The contest is already well under way so don't forget to cast your vote. Winner will be announced February 25th.

We are accepting photos for the next contest, with one already received. Two more and we will start the next contest...submit a photo today.

My Next New Adventure

So now that I have my residency here in Ecuador, I get to have a new experience. Voting. Every resident in Ecuador is required to vote. Of course, I won't be voting for any candidate, but will annul my vote. Still I have to show up. The election is in little over a week, so stay tuned for next months newsletter to find out how it goes.

Until next time...Jess
