Already the last newsletter of 2013!?! Wow, this year flew by.

Renting in Ecuador

If you live in Ecuador at some point you will probably rent a house or an apartment. Knowing what to expect when renting is important since it may not be what you're used to.

For example: Did you know that most rentals do not come with a refrigerator or a stove? Also uncommon....hot water...unless it looks something like this:



Prepare by budgeting some money for "set-up" costs. I recommend setting aside $1,500-2,000 (US) to buy appliances and any must-have furniture pieces. Once you have these items you get to cart them from one rental to the next. :)
