Issue #022, October 14, 2013

I had an unexpected surprise at the end of last month. My dad bought my son and I tickets to go to the States for a visit. The tickets were bought and three days later I was on my way to Quito.

This was my first time to the new Quito Airport. It was bright and clean...and warm! Which was a huge plus at 2 am in the Andes.

After an interesting layover in El Salvador, we arrived in the US. It's nice to see my family and friends, but I am looking forward to getting back to the warm world I feel I belong to now.

Since I'm not in Ecuador at the moment I will keep this newsletter short and sweet...

Photo Contest

Firstly, we have a winner in our last photo contest! Congrats to Celeste on winning with her great photo of Cuicocha Lake.

Our next contest is already underway. This time we have a photo from each of the three mainland regions of Ecuador: an "aerial attack" on the Pacific coast, a waterfall in the jungle and a misty morning in the Andes mountains.

Click here to see the entries and vote for your favorite. Winner announced November 5th.
Featured Hotel

This months featured hotel is from my favorite place...Tena. Hostal la Posada is a great place near all the action in Tena. Enjoy comfy rooms at a comfy price.

For more info click here.
I will be enjoying the fall colors of the Great Lakes area for a few more weeks. With the way the weather is heading we may even see some snow! But I will be glad to get back to my life in Ecuador!

Until next time...Jess
